Gas Prices Park RV Travel

by Self-Storage-Owner

RVing is a favorite pastime for many families. Cruising through the Midwest, climbing the Rocky Mountains and discovering unbeaten paths are what sparks a family to purchase an RV. It represents a future of family vacations and building memories.

Perusing the RV sales lot allows a future RV owner to dream big. Brand new RVs look perfect and have that mesmerizing new car smell to the fullest extent. Many times, a family will purchase a new RV of at least half or more of the value of their house. What seems like a romantic idea at the moment quickly becomes a realistic problem.

Families eager to take their new baby out for a road trip quickly curb their adventure until they have saved up enough money for gas. In addition to the poor gas mileage of RVs, the rising price of gas has many families barely commuting to work without testing how far the car will go on empty. The strain of higher gas prices only promises to increase with the summer travel season approaching, which lessens the possibility of traveling across the country.

So what becomes of the family dream of road trips and vacations? During the winter months, the RV sits dormant. However, families who have invested so much do not want to put their RV out in the cold. What do they do? One answer is renting an RV storage space.

Many RV storage spaces provide covered parking or garage parking. Another benefit of RV storage is that the facility should provide security by way of a fenced perimeter and restricted access to only allow tenants to enter.

RV storage also solves the puzzle of where a family can keep larger RVs when not in use. Many homeowners associations and cities do not allow long term parking for trailers, abandoned vehicles or RVs. Even if parking the RV on the street is allowed, it can be an eyesore to the neighbors and to the RV owner.

One way many families compromise the desire to take their RV on the road is by using RV storage camps. At an RV camp, campers can hookup their RV to water and electric lines and park their RV on the grounds.

It is also common for families to tow along a small SUV or car for short drives around the camp site or touring the area. Brining along a secondary vehicle is less hassle than unhooking water and electric lines from the RV. Driving an SUV or car will also save oodles of gasoline, which does help save money. Driving a small family SUV or car will also save time and allow the family to drive in and park in areas that might not have been accessible to large RVs.

RVs are also being sold by owners who no longer use them. Buying a used RV is one way to offset the high cost of new RV vehicles. However, one should do their homework on a used RV in order to make sure there is no history or accident. Having a check up done on the vehicle is also a wise decision and if the seller does not go along with having a check up, then you may be best to avoid the transaction all together.

Whatever you decide, there are many ways to buy an RV for a bargain and several options for parking your RV in between travels.

Auto Insurance for Your Classic or Antique Car

by Mary Duares

Owning a class or antique car is a real joy, but it poses challenges from restoration to preservation. Finding affordable auto insurance for these gems can also be difficult. As with any insurance, research is the key. Take the time to decide what kind of coverage you want, then get quotes from multiple companies.

Car insurance quotes for classics and antiques will depend on many factors. What is the value of the car? Has it been restored? What modifications have been made to the vehicle? Is the car garaged when not in use? How many miles will be put on the car annually? Who will be driving the car? Where will the car be driven to and from? Know the answers to these questions before shopping for auto insurance.

Insurers of classic and antique autos will want to know the specific value of an older car before insuring it. The auto insurance companies will ask numerous questions about the state of repair the vehicle is in. The Kelley Blue Book or other car value publications will be consulted for a retail and trade in value. You should do this yourself also so you know the general value range of your vehicle.
Auto insurance companies want to know the miles the car will be driven annually. It is one of the most important aspects of the car insurance policy for older cars. Will it be driven for shows and weekends only or will it be used for daily driving? Some car insurance companies restrict the driving to weekends only and will not allow for it's use as transportation to work. Others will allow any type of use, but only allow say 3000 miles a year to be put on the vehicle. They may also want a picture of the car and a list of all the modifications. This information helps them give you the best policy price for your car.

In order to get the most joy and value out of your classic car, pick the insurance coverage that will fit your lifestyle. Picking an insurance policy with too little coverage, or inadequate coverage, will be disastrous if something should happen. You will want your vehicle to be restored up to it's current value if minor damage occurs. Some insurance companies will not do this, stating it is unable to be fixed to it's pre-event state due to the lack of original factory parts available. In the event of a crash or unavoidable damage, you will want to be assured they will do everything in their power to repair your vehicle. Call around or cruise the Internet to find the auto insurance company that is right for you.

One Downloader For Three Trucks

By Nathan Young

Bully Dog Diesel is one of the biggest names in diesel performance and they have been around for about 10 years as of 2007. One of their claims to fame is their downloader's that can be switched between a Ford, Dodge, and Chevy diesel. This is a great feature because with any other performance programmer if you buy a different make of truck, you have to buy a whole new programmer for that truck. The Bully Dog Triple Dog and Bully Dog PMT (performance management tool) on the other hand can be changed from one truck to another saving quite a bit of money is the individual buys a different truck or upgrades. Although good luck trying to get a die hard Ford person to switch to anything else and vice versa. There are some that don't care though.

The Bully Dog Triple Dog

The original one size fits all downloader which has been extremely popular. Downloader's in general just plug into the diagnostic port under the dash and upload a new program onto the truck for either fuel economy, economy while towing, or performance. The Triple Dog plugs into the diagnostic port under the dash like the others do, but has a few differences. One, you can go to Bully Dogs website after purchasing the Triple Dog and download an extreme program for free. Two, it can be linked up with Bully Dog's Outlook monitor which is a full digital gauge set up that also allows you to switch between power levels while you are driving. This is something that no other downloader can do.

The Bully Dog PMT

This also plugs into the OBDII diagnostic port under the dash. The PMT is exactly what its name says; it's a performance management tool. The Bully Dog PMT offers push button or touch screen navigation; both navigation styles come with each unit and are active all the time. It also has a color screen with the best resolution and highest contrast of any screen in the diesel industry. It gives you the capability to display four different engine parameters at a time and gives your twenty engine parameters to choose from. Bully Dog is the only company that has a monitor that will work on all three of the major diesel trucks. I personally happen to be one that is happy driving any of the major diesel trucks so this is a feature that appeals to me. For others it might not matter as much.

Bully Dog Diesel offers the Bully Dog Triple Dog and Bully Dog PMT for all diesel trucks- Nathan Young

Carnival Group Cruise Report 2008

by Story_tella

The UK cruise industry has taken the best part of 50 years to reach the 1 million passenger mark, but now, with such strong growth, it has been predicted that it will take just 8 years to hit 2 million.

This is just one of the fascinating revelations published in the 2008 Cruise Report which was compiled by the Carnival UK Group earlier this month. The report summarized current cruise trends as well as forecasting market predictions up to the year 2020.

Interestingly, the report suggested that the future of cruising this side of the Atlantic is looking good, with the majority of the 44 new ships set to be built in the next 5 years sailing for European brands. With an estimated 5 million UK passengers by 2020, this will be a much needed capacity increase.

These figures show great confidence in the UK cruise market and is good news for the Carnival Group who somewhat monopolize the market with ownership of P&O Cruises, Ocean Village, Cunard, Yachts of Seabourn and Princess Cruises.

Carnival UK Group – 2007 Figures

• 2007 saw an impressive 18% increase of UK passengers choosing to sail with Princess Cruises, thus partly due to an extended season of Southampton departures onboard the popular Sea Princess, along with the deployment of an additional 2 ships to serve Europe.

• Ocean Village continued their success in attracting informal cruisers, as well as maintaining their impressive first time cruiser rate, with around 50% of their passengers fitting into this category.

• P&O Cruises passenger figures mirrored those from 2006, but they did confirm heavy interest in their new build – the Ventura - sailing this year, which is set to increase capacity for P&O by 22%.

• Cunard saw high demand from UK passengers most notably on their transatlantic crossings on the Queen Mary 2, with North American passengers being outnumbered by Brits.

• Finally, Yachts of Seabourn, catering for the ultra luxury end of the cruise market, confirmed there was an increased demand for their product.

Looking ahead, host David Dingle, chief executive officer of Carnival UK, reported that we can expect cruising to head in a much healthier direction, with a focus on spas and fitness and more sophisticated dining, with an aim to eliminate some of the negative images of cruising.
We can also expect to see advanced technological features, such as interactive digital TV in cabins, texting facilities, and plasma screens in lounges to show major sporting events.

2020 Predictions

Let's take a step back in time to 1995. P&O Cruises proudly introduced the Oriana as the UK's largest cruise ship at a now somewhat modest 69,000 tons. This was seen as a huge advance in the industry, many believed it was too bold and questioned whether she would ever fill. 13 years on we have seen such unbelievable development in the market, not only in the size and capacity of the ships, but in the onboard innovations. Who would have thought we would see ice skating rinks, bowling alleys and even boxing rings onboard?

We only have to look as far as next year to see the start of the future of cruising, with the introduction of Royal Caribbean's Project Genesis, which will a record breaking 220,000 ton ships with a capacity for 5000 passengers. This alone is hard to imagine, so what can we see happening in the next 12 years?

Well, here's the good news; according to Peter Shanks, Carnival UKs chief commercial officer, we can say goodbye to single supplements and look forward to ships that have specific single cabins that can be sold for the same per person price as double cabins. He also predicts a renaissance for ocean liners, as it will become the most relaxing way to cross the Atlantic, as well as cruise ships being built differently to allow "weatherproof cruising". He stated; "The process has already started in the Mediterranean, but, by 2020, the development of many more all weather ships with greater stability and range of weatherproof entertainment facilities will make winter cruising viable from and to many more places"

Further positive predictions were put forward by David Dingle who believes that by 2020, inside cabins will be a thing of the past as balcony cabins come as standard. He further adds that cruise ships are likely to be powered in a different way; "It could be Biofuels; it could be liquefied natural gas, we should have worked the best way forward to marry the environmental issues involved with the optimum design for the ships to operate efficiently".

So, better ships, more balconies and less environmental damage all sounds pretty good, but what about the onboard innovations in 12 years time? What can we really expect from our cruise experience?

Unfortunately, the report didn't explore this area, however, Nigel Esdale, P&O's managing director did predict future ships weren't going to be built in the bigger and better style that is the current trend; "I do not believe ships will necessarily be any larger than the 2,000 to 3,000 passenger size which are already beginning to dominate the market here in 2008 but there will be a lot more of them and they will vary a lot more in style and on board facilities"

So rather than looking at a future filled with bigger ships with mind blowing innovations, maybe the market will develop in a more subtle direction, with emphasis on higher quality dining, entertainment and itineraries, making cruising the ultimate luxury product.

RV camping is a very popular kind of camping probably because you can bring along some of the bigger luxury items like comfortable chairs and bicycles. Auto Parts Guide: Essential Off Road Auto Parts

by Billy Han

So you're finally ready to make the leap into the world of off road auto parts, and willing to invest the time and money into gearing your rig for rugged terrain.

If you practically live on the trail already, there probably isn't much you can learn here. On the other hand, if you're just getting started with customizing your vehicle with auto parts, read on to get an idea of the essential auto parts you need to properly equip your ride.

Lift Kits

Beginning this article with lift kits is not to say that they are the most important and absolutely essential auto parts for going off road. Actually, you'd be surprised just how capable some vehicles are with stock equipment, provided that they're driven correctly.

But for the true hardcore off road enthusiast looking to take on some serious terrain, a suspension lift kit is not just a necessary auto parts modification, but also one of the most major projects you could possibly undertake.

Regardless of what type or brand of suspension lift kit you choose to invest in, the ultimate goal of adding one is typically twofold:

  • Clearance:

Lifting your vehicle just a few inches off the ground provides your vehicle with added height clearance. This allows you space to outfit your ride with larger tires, in essence producing better all-around traction and giving you more room to clear obstacles.

  • Articulation:

Articulation is a term used to describe the amount of allowed up and down wheel travel ability. Generally speaking, the more articulation you have, the more your wheels can flex when crawling over obstacles.

Tires

Upgrading your tires goes hand in hand with adding a suspension lift kit, since the combined bigger size of the tires plus the extra inches from your lift kit will offer much needed clearance through tough environments.

It is a common misconception that adding off road tires is all about getting improved traction. While this may be true to a limited extent, there are other, better auto parts for improving off road traction. Overall, adding tall tires is mostly about clearance.

It should also be noted that when adding larger tires and a suspension lift, certain stock components may not be able to stay up to snuff in harsh conditions. For this reason, you may need to update some related hardware to help keep up. Ring and pinion gears are one huge example. Axles and brake systems are some others.

Check with someone who has some technical know-how for a better idea of what you're up against.

Winches

A winch may be the single most important off road auto parts purchase you can make. In fact, many would recommend that a beginning off road enthusiast's first purchase should be a winch.

Fact is, your ride could be equipped with the best gear in the world, but even then your rig would not be immune to getting stuck in some uncompromising terrain. A winch isn't just a helping hand in these instances -- it's a life-preserver for your vehicle.

Lockers

Although bigger and more aggressive off road tires may provide some added traction in off road terrain, lockers are actually the biggest traction upgrade you can invest in.

Nevermind all the technical intricacies that lie within these auto parts; the bottom line is that lockers offer incredible traction, and can even be tweaked on the fly to accommodate different situations and environments.

Protective Equipment

It's only natural that when hitting the trails, your auto parts will get a little banged up along the way. Fortunately, you can help mitigate some of the damage by outfitting your vehicle with a number of protective accessories.

Skid plates are probably one of the most crucial auto parts, as they protect the underside components, which are very easy to damage. Front and rear bumpers, fender flares, and sport cages are just some of the other auto parts you can use to protect your rig.

Performance Auto Parts

Upgrading to larger tires and adding more weight with winches, bumpers, and other additional auto parts equates to less horsepower. You can make up for that loss by taking a page out of the import tuner's book.

Everything from performance exhaust and intake systems, to computer modules, and even turbo systems can give you the horsepower you need for extra muscle, and oftentimes even improved gas mileage.

Other Accessories

Whether it's a sparkling set of chrome wheels, a performance-grade battery or any other premium auto parts, there are enough off road auto parts available for you to customize your rig to your heart's content.

Maintain the efficiency of your car with real Infiniti part

by Tim Johrer

The performance of any car depends on the originality and genuineness of its parts. Therefore, it is totally compulsory for car to be equipped with all original and certified parts of a brand, so that it can always offer an up to the mark driving experience. For this reason, people who are passionate about their car do not compromise with any fake or cheap substitution when it comes to their cars. And this case is superbly prominent with luxury brands such as Infiniti. An Infiniti owner would never wish to reduce the performance level of his or her car by opting for a non certified Infiniti part.

Buying a luxury car is relatively much easier than maintaining its luxurious and quality performance. In fact, many people fail to cope up with the maintenance of their luxury car and this is mainly due to the monetary reasons. In cases of replacements of car parts, people often go for cheap parts that are available with the local car dealers. However, by getting duplicate parts fixed in the car, the car owner in turn invites all the more technical complications for his car with added expenses in the longer run. Thankfully, more and more customers have now realized this fact and are focusing on getting only original Infiniti part for their cars, so that their luxury car can always remain a luxury car. The owner has no valid reason to alleviate the efficiency of the car by fixing a duplicate Infiniti part in the car.

Now let's focus on the circumstances that force an owner to buy the duplicate parts of an Infiniti car. With most of the cases, it is the issue of the enticing low and cheap prices of the unauthorized car parts. Local car dealers sell these parts very conveniently to the customers by giving them the option of easy availability and low quoted charges. In addition to this, it is very profitable for the dealers to deal in artificial parts as it gives them a chance to earn heavy profits on the stake of customer. Secondly, the unavailability of Infiniti parts dealer or the lack of information regarding the address of these reliable Infiniti dealers. Therefore, in order to rectify this incompetence the customers can browse through the Internet, where the entire list of the Infiniti dealers is available with their complete contact information.

On the hand, the existence of fraudulence and forgery cannot be denied in this field. Many dealers try to sell fake part on the name of Infiniti to the customers who fail to detect the originality of the part and easily get duped. To avoid such purchases, the customer must perform few checks and authentication tests. First of all they should only buy the parts from an Infiniti dealer and check for the certified stamp marked on the part purchased. Secondly make sure that the dealer is not giving you a used or repaired Infiniti part. It is no doubt that an Infiniti luxury car is considered to be one amongst the most reliable car with durable machinery and hence, nobody can entertain lack of attention and any sort of mishandling with their dream cars.

Tim Johrer has a special interest towards luxury cars and knows that the level of class defines luxury cars.He provides information to customers about different range of Infiniti cars. For more information related to Infiniti, infiniti part, infiniti new york, visit http://www.infinitiofmanhasset.com

Understanding Pontoon Boats

By Greg Howard

If you are new to boats and boating, you may wonder how the pontoon boat got its name. Pontoons are cylindrical shaped objects that have the ability to float on water, and due to this characteristic, they were often used for large structures that required staying afloat. This included buildings and bridges that had to achieve this objective, whether permanently or temporarily. With such a useful trait, it was not long before some individuals hooked onto the idea of using pontoons to construct vessels that could stay afloat on water and transport humans and goods as well. The end result was the pontoon boat.

Pontoon boats are extremely popular due to its cost effectiveness compared to owning other types of boating vehicles, with people often looking out for used pontoon boats for sale in a bid to get cheap bargains. The variety of these boats are also mind boggling, ranging from the simple pontoon boat for recreational activities like a sunny day out in the sea, to the more sophisticated hunting and fishing boats built to withstand heavy duty use while participating in the sport. Despite the differences in uses and needs, they generally consist of the same generic design, with a deck built on top of the two cylindrical pontoons. The sizes of the decks and pontoons are dependent on the activity the boat is built for, and they can be made from many different types of material, such as wood. The main objective for these boats are to be lightweight due to its various needs, but to be sturdy enough to contain a sizable number of passengers and equipment used for the trips.

A simple pontoon boat will normally not have any protective railings around its peripheral, as they are used for recreational or even patrolling purposes in neighboring rivers or swamps. However, there are an increasing number of boats which are fitted with railings as a precautionary measure. Some of these pontoon boats even have a mini shelter or cabin built over them, for those who prefer a more sheltered design. Again the designs are kept simple because of the nature of use for these boats. You will hardly ever see anyone on a pontoon boat out in the ocean, as they are simply not built for rougher terrains or environments.

At the same time many prefer getting pontoon boats due to their lower cost and they can be a great vehicle for a family trip or gathering down by the lake or river. These vehicles are also much smaller in size and easier to manage and maintain. The variety of pontoon boats for sale also show the enduring popularity of these water vehicles and they remain affordable for most individuals who would like to own one without being set back a huge amount from buying a larger and more expensive vessel like yachts. New pontoon boats can be bought for just a few hundred dollars, and many retailers now include other extra accessories which make these purchases very much a bargain.

Greg Howard is a boating enthusiast that trades in used pontoon boats for sale. He owns several pontoon boats of his own and enjoys weekend fishing trips with his family on his favourite Bennington pontoon boats.

Turn Your Truck Into a Train

by trainhorn

We've all heard it, that penetrating steady tone blast from a passing locomotive. It is designed to warn motorists or anyone in the right-of-way to stand clear, that danger is imminent for the unaware motorist or passer-by.

Although air horns are used in emergency vehicles and trucks, it's the train whistle that stirs the imagination. Like trains in general, these tones stir a strong nostalgic response in those who grew up near a railway. It was Hank Williams that so aptly described in song that "lonesome whistle blow." Many youngsters have grown to adulthood with their fondness for diesel train horns intact. Today, there are many hobbyists who avidly collect these horns and refurbish them. The internet has allowed these collectors to band together to promote and share their hobby. Common collectible train horn manufacturers include Nathan, Leslie, Wabco and Prime. Only Nathan Manufacturing, Inc. and Leslie Controls, Inc. are still in existence.

All air horns operate in similar manner. Imagine for a moment a megaphone type loudspeaker. It has a magnet, a voice coil and a diaphragm. After an applied electrical input, the diaphragm vibrates causing sound waves. The air horn is a type of speaker too but is actuated by air rather than an electrical/magnetic current. Air pressure causes the diaphragm to rapidly open and close the airway many times a second. This is heard by the ear as a steady tone.

Many hobbyists can determine a train horn model simply by listening to its tone. The pitch of a train horn is affected by many variables. The diameter of the air inlet orifice determines the loudness. The internal components and the bell horn material also affect whether the tone will be mellow sharp or in-between. The size and shape of the bell horn also changes the tone.

Air horns are supplied by an air tank. The tank holds a finite quantity of air so it needs to be re-filled by an air compressor. True diesel air horns need plenty of compressed air so hobbyists recommend a minimum 20 gallon tank. Compressors can run the gamut from small 12 volt electric compressors to moderate size gasoline compressors to large 10HP gas behemoths.

Truck and SUV owners represent a growing market for air horns. These vehicle owners are drawn to the flashy chrome appearance of these horns. Some hide the horns so as not to attract attention. These scaled down versions are typically bought new in a kit for easy installation. A consumer can choose a truck air horn, typically in a single or two horn model, or a train horn that usually contain three or four horns that produces that distinctive ominous chord blend.

The kit typically involves a 12 volt compressor ("pump") running off the battery and a one to three gallon steel air tank running to a high flow solenoid valve. Separate tubes then run to each horn in the system. These kits can also be installed in a car or boat.

A collector usually mounts an air horn on a truck or truck bed for demonstration purposes and to test different configurations. If you are considering purchasing a train horn kit for your personal vehicle, check with your local ordinance. Train horns easily produce sound levels of 170DB. You can use your regular horn alone with the installation of a simple toggle switch if you desire to go "stealth" in town.

The recent trend for choosing bridal cars is a lot like choosing the outfit. You go for the best car that suits the bride and groom and are exclusive for them. This way you are making the bride and groom (not to forget the car) the feature of the day. It is something very important that should be given priority too. There are so many options in choosing the best bridal car, there's a wide variety to choose from.

Choosing Your Wedding Car

Isn't it fascinating to get out of a limousine complementing your best wedding gown? What an astonishing site it would be! Having a special and glamorous wedding is not just for elite people, we can all be luxurious on that special day if we wish to.

If you want an elite type of wedding, something luxurious they say, better take the limo as your wedding car. This long luxurious car typically has a divider separating the driver from the rear passenger compartment. This partition usually contains a sliding window so that conversations between passengers in the rear compartment may be kept private from the chauffeur. Communication with the driver is possible either by opening the window in the partition or by using an intercom system. A limo would surely give the couple the privacy they needed in their very special occasion. Aside from the comfort it gives, you can also get the glam and luxurious feeling every elite couple had!

Limousines have the connotation of being high class or elite. Yes, this is really high class because of its very high cost. Not every rich couple could have it, but there's always a way for everything. Your wedding is certainly the most special day of your life. Make it exceptional! Wedding is a once in a lifetime experience, so make it best. If you are considering a limo for your wedding car, then go for it. Limo for hire is always available if you can't afford to own one. The True Difference between Motorcycle Oil and Automotive Oil

by Chris Nicholas

To some people, changing the oil in your car is just like changing the oil in your motorcycle. Just drain out the old oil, install a new oil filter, and pour in the desired amount of new oil and your done. So when it comes time to change your motorcycle oil, why can't you use the same oil that you use in your car? Motorcycle oil and automotive oil look and feel the same so how could there be a difference between the two?

Automotive oil looks pretty enticing at $3 a quart but any experienced motorcycle rider knows that using automotive oil in motorcycles causes serious damage. In automotive vehicles, the engine is always separate from the clutch and transmission so they have separate oils for each. In automotive engine oil, there is more of what is called "friction modifiers" to help lessen the amount of friction on engine components and improve fuel economy. Of course, improving fuel economy has always been the main goal of the automotive industry making friction modifiers a necessity for all automotive oils.

These friction modifiers that are added to automotive oils are what cause serious damages when used in motorcycles. The friction modifiers clog the clutch plates in a motorcycle's transmission causing serious clutch slippage and disabling the motorcycle. You see, for motorcycles to be as compact as they are, they have to combine their engine and transmission into one casing. This means that everything is lubricated by only one type of oil including the valves, piston, transmission, and clutch.

Motorcycles require very little and/or no friction modifiers to help improve clutch friction and to prevent clutch slippage. But to make up for this lack of friction modifiers, motorcycle oils use higher levels of anti-wear additives such as ZDDP, also known as phosphorous, to limit engine friction and wear. Since motorcycle oil has extra anti-wear additives and is lubricating so much more than automotive oil, you can expect to pay anywhere from $9 to $15 a quart.

To some people, both oils look and feel the same but now you know the facts of each. So the next time that you decide to change your motorcycle oil, go straight to your local motorcycle dealer and buy only high quality motorcycle oil designed specifically for the type of motorcycle you own. Make sure that you change your oil periodically to keep it fresh and clean to ensure a long life for your engine, transmission, and clutch.

RV Camping Is Easier And More Convenient

by

Recreational Vehicle (RV) Camping is like car camping except in most RV's you can sleep. RV camping is a very popular kind of camping probably because you can bring along some of the bigger luxury items like comfortable chairs and bicycles. And some of the fancier RV's have luxuries as you will never find in a tent, like a bathroom, bedroom, living room and kitchen. You can leaf your supplies, kitchen tools, towels and other personal stuff in the RV, you don't have to pack everything when you decide to mover to another campsite.

RV camping is a great way for families to go camping without all of the putting up tents and sleeping on the ground kind of stuff. It is comfortable for parents with small children and for their grandparents and everyone in between. It is also an enjoyable way of camping for people who have disabilities, they will be able to keep on camping without all of the restrictions tent camping can invoke, like the physical burden of putting up the tent.

One of the main advantages of RV camping is that families can use their RV for other purposes when they aren't being used for camping. You can use your RV as a guest room on your property or as a spare room for one of your older children, you can stay in your RV when your house is being painted, or when you have to stay with family who do not have a guest room. An RV gives you the freedom to stay in your own home on wheels and park any where you want.

An RV is so practical, you can pack up your RV with all of your supplies and travel from place to place. There are several types of RV's. The more expensive RV's (motor homes) are motorized and you can drive them from camp to camp. Other RV's can be towed behind the car or truck. This is very convenient because you can park the unit and then leave it, and use the truck to go shopping and explore. Some RV models fold open to create a tent. All different types come in many forms, sizes and additions.

RV camping has many advantages, for instance it is much cheaper than staying in hotels. You can take all your supplies and some luxury with you, in fact you can take your whole campsite with you from place to place. And you don't have to put up tents and make a kitchen out of nothing and sleep on the ground. There are many RV parks and they are nice places to rest and enjoy yourself. RV camping is much easier than camping with a tent and backpack. And you can enjoy it with the whole family or with your friends. The freedom that comes with having an RV is wonderful, there are many ways you can use your house on wheels. RV camping is a real family activity and when you try it ones, you wish you would have done it years ago.

Auto Restoration - Successful Steps To A Great Looking Car

by Craig Thornburrow

Auto restoration is a big undertaking, but if done right can save you money and give you more customization. Below is a general overview of the points needed to do the work and your particular job may differ in some ways. Most importantly you should focus on doing these procedures safely while using the proper protective gear for yourself as well as others.

There are seven steps to a basic auto restoration.

Inspection and Evaluation

1) First wash the vehicle to allow for a clear look of all surfaces.
2) Make a list of parts needed that can be seen at this time.
3) Make a list of labor that that can be seen at this time.
4) Make list of tools and materials needed, such as a compressor, air regulator, air hose and hardware, hand tools, and other metal working tools as needed. Sandpaper and fillers will be necessary as well.

Disassembly

1) Expand on part list as you disassemble vehicle.
2) Organize lose parts.
3) Take detailed photos/video of complicated areas before disassembly.
4) Find safe storage for delicate parts
5) Do not dispose of any parts unnecessarily until the vehicle is finished. This is very important.

Clean, Strip and Protect Metal Parts

1) Before stripping be sure to have tools and materials in place for coating, such as: A good rust converter for rust that will not be removed, and a good primer to help protect the metal while body work is being done.
2) Power sand, sand blast, plastic media blast or chemically strip: Rotary sander should be variable speed used below 1000 RPM.

Do the Metal Repairs and Filler Work

1) Get decent tools like a die grinder, stud welder, MIG welder and hand tools.
2) If the job is large, concentrate on one or two areas at a time.
3) This is the time for filler tools and materials. Use decent filler and sandpaper; it isn't worth purchasing cheap products. A dry guide coat is recommended for leveling the fillers.

Finish the Body Work and Start Priming

1) Polyester Putty is usually the final filler.
2) Direct to metal primer then 2K (filler) primer is applied.
3) Undercoating is usually done prior to doing the finish painting. Good "direct-to-metal" paints can protect the underside from deterioration.

The Painting Process

This is one of the most important processes of auto restoration and takes a lot of preparation and time. If you are planning on restoring your car, definitely look into this process further, as well as the other processes.

Compounding

After waiting for the paint to harden somewhat you can sand with ultra fine sandpaper (usually between 600 and 2500 grit) to remove orange peel, dust nibs, runs and other surface imperfections. If paint is fully cured, compounding and polishing takes longer, but is less likely to be damaged.

As mentioned earlier, if you are truly planning to restore your automobile, hopefully this gives you a rough outline of what you need to do, but you should certainly look into it further to give you a full idea of a complete auto restoration.

Fabulous Trips on Luxury Ships

by Allweb

With millions of travelers choosing to take their trips on a cruise ship or an ocean liner there is now a growing demand for large, fast and safe cruise ships to cater to these millions of passengers. For the past five years there have been at least nine new cruise ships built every year only in the North American continent. At the moment there are three cruise ship builders that dominate the global market: Aker Yards with two shipyards in Finland and France, the Fincantieri Company in Italy and German company Meyer Werft. Aker Yards is a Finnish ship building giant with two shipyards, one in Finland and one in France. With a fresh and innovative approach to ship building the company had no problems establishing its name firmly on the list of best ship builders around the world.

This company doesn't merely build cruise ships; it creates comfortable and wonderful facilities for the passengers and handles the cargo problem efficiently. The cleverly designed and flawlessly built Aker ships almost sail themselves allowing the passengers as well as the crew to simply enjoy the cruise. Fifteen of the largest cruise ships in the world bear the signature of Aker shipyards. Aker Yards is currently building two huge Genesis class cruise vessels that will be delivered in 2009 and 2010 for Royal Caribbean. The Italian Company Fincantieri has more than two hundred years of tradition and experience behind it. Two centuries and more than seven thousand ships after its creation the Fincantieri Company continues to search for newer and better solutions in the design and construction of their cruise ships.

The creativity and knowledge of the Fincantieri team was rewarded in 1992 and 1993 when Fincantieri cruise ships Destriero and Rex were awarded the Blue Ribbon. With nearly ten thousand employees, two design centers, two production sites, one research centre and shipyards in Ancona, Riva Trigoso, Monfalcone, Sestri Ponente, Marghera, Palermo, Muggiano and Castellammare di Stabia it's no wonder that Fincantieri is one of the most important cruise ship builders around the world. Another huge constructor of cruise ships and cruise liners is the German Company Meyer Werft. Owner of one of the most modern shipyards in the world and employer of almost 3000 people Meyer Werft has built cruise ships like the Norwegian Pearl and the Pride of Hawaii in 2006. In plan for 2008 there are at least two cruise liners for the Disney Cruise Line and the AIDAdiva, a cruise ship with a capacity of two thousand passengers.

Guides to Choose The Right Motorcycle Type For You

by Cary Clack

You have made the decision to purchase a motorcycle online, but before you do, you should know a little bit about the different types of motorcycles that are available. You will be surprised to learn that there are different motorcycles for different purposes, and it is important for you to choose the right one for your riding requirements.

The Different Bikes

You more than likely have heard the term dirt bike used. This kind of motorcycle is specially designed to be ridden off-road. This motorcycle has tires that are knobby to give you excellent traction on dirt and mud, as well as a light frame and bodywork so it can travel quickly over rough terrain.

A cruiser is like the old folks of motorcycles. It is typically a sedate motorcycle and is popular for those who are just looking to take a long, leisurely ride. They are usually durable and handsome motorcycles that appeal to the older generation of riders.

A motorcycle that is meant for touring and adventure is also called a dual sports motorcycle. These bikes are inspired by the more rugged dirt bike as well as motorcycles that were made for long tours. They are comfortable for long rides and they boast a lot of suspension travel and postures that are upright.

Enduro bikes are designed for off-road competitions that also involve long distances. They usually have lights for night riding. They are made to be outfitted with chart reading devices, timers and other gadgets that aid the riders in keeping time and navigation.

A motorcycle that is called a chopper is the image of bikes that most often comes to mind whenever we hear motorcycles being discussed. These bikes are long and lean and often have handlebars that are high in the air. Their seats are reclined and they have forks that are extremely raked. A chopper is bike that usually has a lot of flashy chrome.

Sport bikes are made strictly for performance. They have powerful engines and the handling is tight. These motorcycles are not for the casual rider. Purchase this type of bike only if you are interested in motorcycle competition.

Touring bikes almost bring to mind a car on two wheels. These motorcycles were designed with comfort and convenience in mind for long trips. They will often have backrests, a windscreen and many other creature comforts to make the ride more enjoyable. They even come with a radio and navigation system if you desire.

I only mention a scooter because it too can be considered a motorcycle. Vespa made these types of scooter/motorcycle popular all across Europe. They are small and easy to handle. They are made so that the rider doesn't get their clothing stained with oil, so are perfect for commuters where this type of machine is allowed.

There are many designs of motorcycles and you want the perfect bike for the perfect ride. You can find out all the information you will need to successfully purchase a motorcycle online when you go searching. You can find excellent deals and bargains that may end up saving you hundreds of dollars on your new purchase.

Auto Restoration: A Great Project For An Auto Enthusiast

by Craig Thornburrow

When it comes to having one of those older classic cars, auto restoration is important. When you see those beautiful classic cars running down the road, it may seem like they have just been kept in mint condition but that is not always the case. In most cases, these cars have undergone a serious auto restoration process, in which the car was virtually rebuilt from the ground up to ensure that everything was in working order.

While it may sound like a fun project to get into, auto restoration is a big job and only a good idea for those who are able to perform the necessary repairs themselves and profit from the vehicle in one way or another. Whether you plan on driving the restored vehicle for yourself or selling it for a profit, performing an auto restoration with no immediate motivation usually results in a project that can span several years or more, and more often than not they are not finished.

Auto Restoration is a Great Learning Process

If you want to learn more about classic cars or about building or installing the different components of a vehicle, classic auto restoration is a great place to start. Not only can you work toward having your own masterpiece, but you can work on things at your own pace because your livelihood does not depend on the repair of these things.

Of course, there is a degree of frustration that goes along with auto restoration. This is the fact that it seems like every time something is done, something else goes wrong. Unfortunately the problem is not always the easiest thing to find, especially when it comes to older cars. Electrical systems are outdated and sometimes have to be brought up to date, and there are other things that have to be done as well to keep the integrity of the vehicle in question.

Restoring a Car is a Big Job

If you have a lot going on in your life, beginning the process of restoring an automobile is probably something that you want to rethink. There are so many things that are involved in restoring a car to its original condition, and some people are better suited for the job than others. The cars that need more work are often more affordable to obtain than those that need simple paint jobs or upholstery work, so keep that in mind. If you feel like you have found a good deal on an auto to restore, be prepared for the fact that you may or may not have a bigger job ahead of you than you already expected.

If you are interested in restoring an auto, know that the auto restoration process is big. If this is the first car that you have restored, be prepared for all of the work that you have ahead of you. Try and recruit some friends or family to help you with the job, and pick up some books on the auto restoration process and your car of choice, so that you can learn everything you need to know before you jump in.

Bargain-Hunting Tips For Winter Boat Shows

by Rick Young

Bargain-hunters shopping for a boat or boating accessories can find some of the best deals of the season by attending a boat show this winter.

With a variety of products under one roof, boat shows provide an opportunity to compare different types of boats and negotiate with dealers.

"Boat shows offer one-stop shopping that saves time and money," said Ben Wold, executive vice president for the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA). "Shows help you find exactly what you're looking for at a discounted price."

With boats for every lifestyle and budget, shopping can be overwhelming, especially for first-time buyers. NMMA offers the following tips for those attending a boat show:

* Determine what, where and who. What do you want to do with your boat: fishing, waterskiing or cruising? Where will you be boating: lake, river or ocean? Who will be joining you?

* Do your homework. Visit DiscoverBoating.com for pictures and descriptions of more than 30 types of boats to help narrow choices to one or two categories based on your interests and requirements.

* Map your course. Find dealers that sell the brands and boat types identified during your pre-show research. While at the show, get as many opinions and options as possible.

* Choose the right dealer. Select the dealer that goes the extra mile by offering the best deal and ensuring he will be with you after the sale. Ask a dealer's finance manager about handling the entire transaction for you, from assisting with the application to the loan closing and vessel titling.

* Take a test drive. Depending on the boat show and time of year, some dealers offer test

drives to experience how the boat feels on water. Test-driving several boat types and sizes will help you make the best choice.

NMMA sponsors more than 20 boat and sport shows across the country. For show dates, locations and other information, visit DiscoverBoating.com. - NU
